Everyone loves Kachoris. We can have it in the form of Dahi Kachori, Normal Kachori. It is considered as one of the popular snacks or breakfast items. Kachori is a spicy snack, originating from the Indian subcontinent. Alternative names for the snack include kachauri, kachodi and katchuri. Today we are revealing this Homemade Kachori Recipe which is shared by Vaishnavi Jadhav a Mumbai based blogger who is also a software engineer in the profession and is passionate about cooking and loves traveling.

Ingredients:-

For the filling:-

  • Moong dal 1 cup
  •  Salt as per taste
  • Red chili powder. 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tbsp
  • Dhaniya powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Jeera 1/2 tbsp
  •  Dry mango powder (Amchur) 1/4 tbsp
  • Chaat masala 1/4 tbsp
  • Hing a pinch
  • Saunf 1/2 tbsp

For kachori layer

  • Maida 1 cup
  •  Salt as per taste
  •  Oil

Method 

  • Make a dough of maida, salt, and oil.
  • Soak moong dal for 2hrs in water, later drain the water and grind it in a mixer.
  •  Take a pan, add oil into it.
  • Put Hing , jeera, saunf in the pan and let it crackle
  •  Add moong dal paste into it.
  • Cover it with a lid and let it cook for 5-7 mins
  • Add all the remaining ingredients into it. Red chili powder, Turmeric, Dhaniya powder, Dry mango powder, salt, Chaat masala, and roast the dal till the time all water get disappear.
  • Once the filling is dry off the gas and lets it cool for some time.
  • Now make medium size balls of the dough
  •  Flatten the ball, now fill it with the moong dal stuffing.
  • Get the edges together and form a bundle, furthermore, gently press the edges and flatten.
  • Deep fry kachoris are ready to eat.
